Injury rehabilitation is a step-by-step process that helps an injured person heal and return to their normal life as much as possible. Rehabilitation can reduce pain, strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and range of motion. Also, it helps people learn new ways of doing things when an injury is so severe that regular movements are no longer possible.
Chiropractic rehabilitation focuses on restoring the bones, ligaments, and muscles in the back and neck. Back and spine injuries can cause headaches, stiffness, loss of movement, spasm, difficulty breathing, loss of bowel/bladder control, extreme back or neck pain, and other serious symptoms.
Chiropractic rehabilitation techniques include, but are not limited to, adjustments, foam rolling, joint mobility, strengthening muscles, percussive therapy, and stretching. Some exercises can be performed at home, however, all rehabilitation should be done under the supervision of a medical professional.
