According to the American Chiropractic Association, back pain is the number one cause of disability in the U.S. Americans miss more than 250 million workdays each year because of back discomfort caused by strained or torn muscles, arthritis, and/or issues related to the spine.
Back pain can manifest as aches, shooting or stabbing pain, or a burning sensation. In addition, pain can extend down into the legs causing difficulty lifting, bending over, standing, walking, running, and sleeping.
